Fortresses
We can find two ancient military fortresses in Canfranc: the Coll de Ladrones and the Torreta de Fusileros (turret of fusiliers), both of which are from the 19th century and were built by order of king Philip II with the mission of defending the border pass. Coll de Ladrones, at the entrance to the Canal of Izas, is built on a black rocky outcrop. It is currently a private property and it is in ruins.
